Lok Sabha elections were held in himachal pradesh in the seventh and last phase. Along with elections on all four lok sabha seats, by-elections were held in six assembly constituencies. While on one hand bharatiya janata party won all four lok sabha seats, congress candidates won four out of six seats in the by-elections held in the state.


Anuradha Rana from Lahaul Spiti, Ranjit Singh Rana from Sujanpur, vivek Sharma from Kutlehad and Rakesh Kalia from Gagret have won on congress ticket. Apart from Rakesh Kalia, all the congress MLAs have become MLAs for the first time. Apart from this, Sudhir Sharma from Dharamshala and Indradutt Lakhanpal from Barsar are reaching the assembly after winning on bjp ticket.


Congress government safe

The four new congress MLAs who won in the by-elections held on six seats of himachal pradesh assembly will work as a security shield for the congress government. The number of congress members in himachal pradesh assembly has now increased from 34 to 38. The resignations of three independent MLAs in the himachal pradesh assembly were accepted on june 3. In such a situation, by-elections are to be held in three other assembly constituencies, Nalagarh, Dehra and Hamirpur, in the next six months.


At present, the number of members in the himachal pradesh assembly is 65 and the majority figure is 33. In such a situation, with 38 members, the congress is completely safe. congress claims that the congress candidates will win in the three assembly constituencies in which by-elections will be held in the coming time. bjp candidate Sudhir Sharma from Dharamshala assembly constituency defeated his nearest rival Devendra Singh Jaggi of congress by securing 28 thousand 066 votes. Jaggi got 22 thousand 540 votes.
