62.80 percent voting took place on 13 lok sabha seats in punjab on june 1. Which is about three percentage points less than the voting in the 2019 lok sabha elections. This figure was 65.96 percent in the last parliamentary election. According to the report of the state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO)'s office, after compiling the data of 13 lok sabha seats in punjab, the voting percentage increased to 62.80, while on saturday the voting percentage was 61.32.

According to the data released on Sunday, the highest voter turnout of 69.36 percent was recorded in bathinda lok sabha seat of Punjab. At the same time, the lowest voter turnout of 56.06 percent was recorded in Amritsar. The voting percentage in Gurdaspur was 66.67, Ferozepur 67.02, patiala 63.63, Faridkot 63.34, Sangrur 64.63, Khadoor Sahib 62.55, Anandpur Sahib 61.98, Hoshiarpur 58.86. Fatehgarh Sahib recorded 62.53, jalandhar 59.70 and ludhiana 60.12 percent voting.

Out of 2.14 crore voters, 1.35 crore voted

The punjab CEO office had set a target of achieving over 70 per cent polling in the 2024 elections. Out of the total 2.14 crore voters in the state, 1.35 crore voted in the elections. 328 candidates were in the fray for 13 lok sabha seats in Punjab. Of the voters who exercised their franchise, 71.41 lakh (63.27 percent) were men and 63.36 lakh (62.28 percent) were women. According to data provided by the punjab CEO office, about 280 third gender people cast their votes. A total of 2,14,61,739 voters were eligible to vote in punjab, including 1,01,74,240 women and 773 third gender voters.
