Calcutta high court canceled 5 lakh OBC certificates, mamta said - will not obey the order

OBC Certificate News: calcutta high court has decided to cancel the OBC certificates issued since 2010.

Mamata government has suffered a big blow from calcutta High Court. The high court on wednesday rejected all the OBC certificates issued in West bengal after 2010. Due to this, there is a possibility of cancellation of about 5 lakh OBC certificates. The court has ordered that a new OBC list be prepared under the West bengal backward classes Commission Act 1993.

Chief minister Mamata Banerjee's statement has come after the High Court's decision. She said that she will not accept this order of the court on OBC reservation. During an election rally organized in Khardah, mamta said that some mischievous people want to snatch OBC reservation through agencies, but I will not let this happen.

Mamta said that OBC reservation will continue in the state, because the bill related to it was passed within the framework of the Constitution. OBC reservation brought by West bengal government will continue. We had prepared the bill after conducting a door-to-door survey and it was passed by the cabinet and the Assembly.

What decision did the court give?

Hearing the petitions challenging the provisions of the Act, the bench of Justice Tapobrata Chakraborty and Justice Rajashekhar Mantha made it clear that the members of the categories whose OBC status has been removed, if they are already in service or have availed the benefit of reservation. Or have been successful in any selection process of the state, then their services will not be affected by this decision. A large number of people in the state will be affected by this decision of the court.
