This 14th century temple will be rebuilt here!!!The 14th century shiva temple, which was demolished during the construction of Jaikwadi Dam 52 years ago, will be rebuilt in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. An official of maharashtra Archeology Department has given this information. The official claimed that for the first time in the state, such an effort is being made to restore a religious place. Two ancient temples located in Shevta and Savkheda villages of Paithan tehsil of the district (then known as Aurangabad) were demolished in 1972 because the area would have been submerged after the completion of the dam.The official told 'PTI-Bhasha' that the stones have been brought here and preserved. He said, “The temple which was in Shevta will be established here on a hill near Soneri Mahal (a historical palace which now houses the office of the Archeology Department). The stones have already been counted and we will reconstruct the temple on the same basis.The official said that the state government has sanctioned Rs 3.53 crore for the project and the work will start in two-three months. The original temples were built in the 'Hemadpanti' style which was common in maharashtra in the medieval era. A few months ago, Union home minister amit shah had praised Chhatrapati shivaji Maharaj for rebuilding temples that were destroyed during the rule of the Mughals and other foreign invaders, and said the ongoing restoration work after the maratha warrior king would be appreciated. It is being taken forward by prime minister Narendra Modi. He also said that Chhatrapati Shivaji's life was about rebelling against atrocities and the fight for 'Swaraj' started by him continues even today.
