In fact, regarding this, Economic Advisor to the President of nepal, chiranjeevi nepal has submitted his resignation.

Nepali President accepted resignation

Nepal President ram Chandra Paudel has accepted Chiranjeevi's resignation. chiranjeevi had issued a statement after printing the controversial map on Nepali notes. The indian government had expressed strong opposition to this step of Nepal. chiranjeevi nepal is the former governor of the Central bank there. He had reportedly termed the government's decision to print a new map on the notes as unfair. Recently, in the cabinet meeting, while printing new notes of Rs 100, it was decided to print new notes in place of the old map. These also include areas like Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura in indian areas.

Resigned for these reasons

On this issue, Nepal's most vocal party CPN-UML President and former PM KP Sharma Oli had strongly criticized chiranjeevi nepal for his statement. Regarding this, chiranjeevi nepal has said that 'I have resigned from my post to maintain the dignity of the Honorable President, because efforts were made to unnecessarily drag the President into controversy regarding my remarks.' Earlier, a group of leaders had demanded Chiranjeevi's dismissal over his statement against the decision to print new Rs 100 notes with the map of nepal as per the amended Constitution. Presenting his argument, he said that while talking to the national and international media on this matter, he went against the national interest and violated decorum. In May 2020, the Oli-led government of nepal had released a map that included places like Lipulekh, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura in Nepal.

Even at that time, later in the Parliament, all the parties supported it. However, after this the government of india had expressed strong objection. Despite this, the old map used in all official documents has been replaced with the new map. indian Foreign minister S jaishankar had last week expressed dissatisfaction over the decision of new notes issued by the nepal government. jaishankar had said that this is not going to change the ground situation. At present, nepal shares more than 1,850 km long data-border with five states of India. These include Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
