48-year-old Ganiben Thakur has been an MLA. She was elected mla on a congress ticket in 2022 and 2017. She won the 2017 election by a margin of 6655 votes. Earlier in 2012 also she contested the election but she had to data-face defeat. Ganiben came into the limelight when she told the unmarried girls of Thakur community to stay away from the phone. She had said that girls should stay away from the phone and focus on studies. She had said that there is nothing wrong in banning the use of phone by unmarried girls.
