Allahabad high court has granted bail to accused Munir Alam under sections of UAPA. Alam was arrested in July 2023 on charges of setting up 'Ghazwa-e-Hind' and strengthening the Popular Front of india (PFI) in the country. The division bench of Judge Ataur rahman Masoodi and Judge Saurabh Lavania granted bail to Munir. In the context of granting bail to Munir, the court's basis was that the co-accused of the accused had already been granted bail. It is claimed that PFI used to provide funds to Munir for non-social works. The court found that the court had already granted bail to Mufti Shahzad, Maulana Sajid, Mohammad islam Qasim and Mohammad Shadabad Aziz Qasmi in a similar case. On this basis the court granted bail to Munir.

On 24th september in the year 2022, an FIR was registered in a police station in Meerut. Citing inputs received by many agencies including ATS, it was alleged that PFI is involved in conspiracies to break the country and create a Muslim nation by the year 2047.

Section 120-B, 121-A, 153-A, 295-A, 109, 505 (2) IPC and Section 13 (1) (A), 13 (1) (B) and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in meerut An FIR was registered under Section 39 of 1967. According to the information received by the police, under the leadership of Mohammad Shadab Aziz, Maulana Sajid, Mufti Shahzad and Mohammad islam Qasmi were actively strengthening their organization and working towards bringing Ghazwa-e-Hind in India. Munir's name came to light in this entire matter when PFI allegedly sent money to his account. After this, UP police arrested Munir in July 2023. After this he was taken on ATS remand for 10 days.
