In Hindu religion, Chaitra month is considered very sacred and auspicious. Hindu New Year starts from Chaitra month itself. Lord ram was born on the Navami of this month and Lord Hanuman was born on the full moon day of Chaitra month. The birth anniversary of Lord Hanuman, the 11th incarnation of Lord Shiva, is celebrated every year with great joy and enthusiasm. This year too, Hanuman Janmotsav is celebrated all over the country. Hanuman Janmotsav is also being celebrated with great pomp in the famous Jakhu temple of Shimla. Beginning with Havan and Yagya, devotees of god have been reaching the temple to offer obeisance since the beginning of the holy day.

Two quintal rota will be offered to kesari Nandan

Jakhu temple management has also arranged special prasad for the devotees here. On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Lord Hanuman, two quintals of roti will be offered to him. Since morning, a crowd of Hanuman devotees has gathered in the temple for darshan. A large number of devotees also participated in the morning puja. Devotees come here from far and wide to visit the Jakhu temple. Jakhu is the highest hill in shimla city and also houses a 108-foot-high statue of Lord Hanuman. Soon a 111 feet tall statue of Lord ram is also going to be installed here.

Lord Hanuman is said to be the protector of the ten directions, sky, and underworld. The devotees who selflessly worship Hanuman ji never have to data-face any hardship. It is said that just by chanting the names of Hanuman ji, a person attains worldly happiness. Lord Hanuman is known by many names like Maruti, Bajrangbali, Anjani Putra, Pawan Putra, ram Doot, Vanar Yuthapati, Kapi Shrestha, Shankarsuvan and ram Bhakt.
