The law of the country is very clear. It is clearly stated in the government of National capital Territory Act (GNCTD) that if you do not have a majority in the House, you cannot become the Chief Minister. If these provisions are not applicable, then under what circumstances will the President’s rule be imposed?


Reminded of sc decision on President's rule

According to senior aam aadmi party leader Atishi, the supreme court has also said that President's rule can be imposed only when there is no alternative. He said, “The law of the country is very clear. President's rule can be imposed only when there is no other option. The issue of Article 356 has gone to the supreme court several times. He said that the apex court has ruled every time that, “President's rule can be imposed only when there is no other option left for the governance of the state. If President's rule is imposed today, it will become clear that this is a case of political vendetta."


What does Article 356 say?

Article 356 of the Constitution deals with provisions in case of failure of constitutional order in the state.

ED does not need evidence

Aiming at the Central government, the delhi minister said, “You have ED. They don't need any proof. When politicians are arrested under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), they do not get bail. Therefore all opposition Chief Ministers will be arrested under PMLA. Then he will be asked to either resign, otherwise, we will impose President's rule. Atishi also claimed that if an independent inquiry had been conducted into the excise policy matter, the bharatiya janata party would have been accused. ED arrested aam aadmi party national convenor kejriwal on march 21 in a money laundering case related to the delhi Excise Policy. Later a court sent kejriwal to ED custody till march 28.
