Voting will be easy for the elderly, what is the arrangement?

Elections in the country are also called the great festival of democracy, in which citizens become eligible to vote from the age of 18 and can exercise their vote as long as they are alive. In such a situation, this time in the lok sabha elections in the capital delhi, the number of young voters has increased by about 1.5 lakh and they will vote for the first time. On the other hand, those who voted this time also include many elderly people who have crossed the age of 100 years. Special arrangements are being made by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of delhi for such elderly voters. It has been observed that elderly voters have more enthusiasm for voting than youth. This is the reason why they do not have to be made aware to vote and if possible, they reach the polling stations to vote using a wheelchair, stick, or any other support.

Special arrangements for voting of elderly people

There is enthusiasm among the elderly about voting but they data-face difficulties in reaching the polling stations because they are not physically capable enough. The number of such elderly voters in the capital has increased more than 10 times compared to the last lok sabha elections and currently, their number is 1004, of which 541 are male and 463 are female voters. In such a situation, special arrangements are being made this time to ensure 100 percent voting of these senior citizens, so that no senior member misses out on voting.

Elderly people will get the facility to vote while sitting at home

Special efforts are being made by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) office of delhi for the voting of the elderly. So that all elderly voters can use their franchises. Two types of arrangements are being made for this. Those elderly voters, who are not in a position to go out of their homes and go to the polling booth, will be provided the facility to vote at home. At the same time, for those who can walk, a free transport facility is being arranged, which will take them from home to the polling station and then drop them back home after voting.
