In Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, Naxalites shot a district Reserve Guard (DRG) jawan just before Holi. The soldier was badly injured by the bullet. He was taken to the district hospital in injured condition. It is being told that the small action team of Naxalites shot the soldier in the back. The soldier had come out of Atal residence at the time of the incident.

Atal residence has been built for policemen in the district headquarters. The soldiers live in Atal residence with their families. It is a matter of relief that the soldier is out of danger. The soldier is being treated under the supervision of doctors at the district hospital. The security of the area has been increased after the incident. Constant patrolling is being done in the surrounding areas. There is an atmosphere of panic in the families of policemen due to the incident.


Acts of Naxalites before Holi

According to the information received from Bastar IG Sundarraj P, the name of the district Reserve Guard jawan is deepak Durgam. The soldier living with his family in Atal Awas had gone out for some work on sunday evening. The small action team of Naxalites reached the soldier and shot him in the back. Hearing the sound of gunshot, people informed Bijapur police station. After the shooting, the Naxalites managed to escape from the spot.

In injured condition, the soldier was immediately brought to the district hospital for treatment. IG said that the soldier was shot behind his back. The condition of the soldier is stable after the bullet was removed from the operation. The incident is being investigated to find out how the Naxalites reached Atal Awas. It is said that the Naxalites committed the crime just 500 meters away from the Bijapur police station in the middle of the city.
