Amidst the announcement of the dates of the lok sabha elections, the investigation branch of the Income Tax Department has also become alert to keep an eye on the movement of black money, jewelry, and cash. The department has deployed 200 of its officers across the state and air Intelligence Units (AIU) have been set up at all 5 airports in the state.

These units will collect cash and other information at the airports including Devi Ahilyabai Holkar international airport in indore city. QRT and air Intelligence Units deployed by the Income Tax Department will be available at the airport 24X7 for prompt action. Additional director of Investigation Wing of Income Tax Department, Anup Kumar Jain said that for the lok sabha elections, the department has set up a 24x7 Central Control and Complaint Monitoring Room in Room No. 313, Third Floor Aaykar Bhawan, Hoshangabad Road and in front of Flour Mill.
