While Ayurvedic products are very popular among indian people, Patanjali ayurveda, a well-known company in the field, has released false and unfair advertisements to promote and popularize its products. Condemning this, the supreme court has sent a notice to the founder and president of Patanjali ayurveda and ordered him to appear in person. Following this, Patanjali ayurveda founder baba Ramdev has publicly apologized. Patanjali ayurveda has tendered an unconditional apology to the supreme court for its advertisements that spread false information about Patanjali's products in curing various ailments.
The supreme court had also asked Patanjali co-founder baba Ramdev and managing director acharya balakrishna to appear before the court on april 2 to explain their failure to respond to the contempt notice. Following this order, Patanjali ayurveda has apologized. acharya balakrishna, the company's managing director, assured that such false advertisements will not be published again. Shares of Patanjali Foods plunged more than 5% on march 19 following the move by the supreme Court. However, there was some recovery in the share price later and the shares of the company rose by 0.7% to Rs 1,368.80. Shares of Patanjali Foods rose 0.83 percent to trade at Rs 1370.20 in the morning trade. It is noteworthy that Patanjali ayurveda has released a medicine to prevent the spread of infection during the Corona period.
 On february 27, the supreme court ordered a ban on all inappropriate advertisements by Patanjali. The supreme court also condemned the AYUSH Ministry for not taking proper action from Patanjali ayurveda regarding the false advertisements. The supreme court has questioned the Ayush Ministry's failure to take action under the Medicines and Magic Remedies Act.
