Protest in Jamia University after implementation of CAA

Protests began at Jamia Millia Islamia here on monday, hours after the central government implemented the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, due to which heavy police deployment was made on the campus. A group of students led by Muslim students Federation (MSF) raised slogans against the Modi government and delhi Police. On the other hand, after the announcement of implementation of caa, jawaharlal nehru university (JNU) issued an advisory on monday appealing to the students to remain alert and maintain peace and harmony on the campus.

Congress-affiliated National students Union of india (NSUI) also opposed the implementation of CAA. A senior police officer said that security has been increased around the Jamia campus to prevent crowd from gathering outside the campus. Jamia's acting vice-chancellor Iqbal Hussain said, "We have tightened security to prevent any kind of movement on the campus."No protest of any kind against the caa will be allowed near the campus by students or outsiders."

A video has surdata-faced in which a group of students are seen raising posters and banners and raising slogans against caa and NRC (National Register of Citizens) in the Jamia campus. NSUI's Jamia unit said in a statement, "NSUI Jamia Millia Islamia protests against the central government's decision to implement the unconstitutional CAA. Jamia NSUI President NS Abdul Hameed and Vice President Dibya Jyoti Tripathi also organized a program to read the Preamble of the Constitution to register their protest.

jawaharlal nehru university appealed to the students to remain alert and maintain peace and harmony in the campus when caa is implemented. An advisory issued by the university late in the evening said that in view of the ongoing student union election process on the campus and various programs being organized by student organizations, all stakeholders on the campus are requested to remain alert and maintain peace and harmony on the campus. An appeal is made to contribute towards keeping it. It is noteworthy that in december 2019, some students in the university campuses located in the national capital had protested against the central government demanding withdrawal of caa and National Register of Citizens (NRC).
