Yogi government's big action on Ghazipur accident

On Monday, a bus caught fire in Ghazipur district of UP after it came in contact with a high tension electrical wire. Five people died in the fire, while many people got burnt. On getting information about the incident, Energy and Urban Development minister Sharma gave instructions for strict action. He has suspended three officers and terminated the service of one.

As soon as information about the incident was received, minister A.K. Taking strict action, Sharma directed to suspend Executive engineer Manish, SDO Santosh Chaudhary and JE pradeep Kumar Rai and terminate the service of Lineman narendra (contractual worker). He talked to the MD of Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam, Divisional Commissioner, district Magistrate and Superintending Engineer. Instructed all the officers to speed up the relief work and provide all possible help to the affected people including making arrangements for better treatment of the injured. Besides, minister Sharma also reached Ghazipur and Mau to personally meet the victims' families.

It may be noted that the bus caught fire after coming in contact with HT wire near 400 meters of Mardah police station in Ghazipur. A total of five people died in this accident, while more than 10 people are said to be injured. The injured have been admitted to hospital. The bus that met with the accident was full of wedding guests. The bus was going from Mau to a marriage function, in which a total of 38 wedding guests were aboard.

Expressing grief over this incident, cm Yogi Adityanath said, 'The loss of life in an accident in Ghazipur district is extremely sad and heart-wrenching. My condolences are with the bereaved family. Instructions have been given to provide financial assistance of ₹ 5-5 lakh to the families of the deceased and ₹ 50-50 thousand to the seriously injured and their free treatment. I pray to god to grant peace to the departed souls at His feet and speedy recovery to the injured.
