AAP MLAs created ruckus in Delhi Assembly, tore copies..?

Ruling aam aadmi party MLAs on friday protested against the alleged stalling of the proposed One Time Settlement Scheme in the delhi assembly and forcibly adjourned the House. AAP MLAs tore and threw copies of the increased water bills inside the House. After this they burnt copies of the bill outside the gandhi statue in the assembly premises.

AAP MLAs accused of stopping the scheme

AAP MLAs accused bjp of stopping the proposed scheme by putting pressure on government officials. The proposal of the scheme has not yet been approved by the cabinet. Amidst sloganeering in the house, after completing the special mention under Rule 280, the MLAs came to the Well carrying placards. After which assembly Speaker ram Niwas Goyal tried to pacify the members, but they ignored his requests, after which he adjourned the house for about half an hour. When the house resumed, the AAP MLAs again came to the well of the House. Ultimately the Speaker adjourned the proceedings of the house till 11 am on Monday.

Torn copies of inflated bills

AAP MLAs have been protesting over the issue during the ongoing budget session of the delhi assembly, leading to adjournment of the house after a special mention by the members. He claims that people were meeting him complaining about the increased bills and requesting him to fix it. AAP mla Kuldeep Kumar said that he has found many people whose bills have been inflated and said consumers should not pay such bills. Tearing copies of the inflated bills, he said the protest would continue until the scheme is passed. The MLAs said the bills were increased because meter readings were not taken by delhi Jal Board (DJB) employees. This scheme is proposed to improve such bills by taking the average of correct readings over a certain period.
