Bharatiya Janata Party's hyderabad MP candidate madhavi Lata is embroiled in a controversy in the lok sabha elections. She went to a polling booth in hyderabad today and caused trouble to women who came in burqa. Go to the women sitting in the polling station and ask, "Show me your Aadhaar card? Show me your voter slip?" she asked. Moreover, they check that it is you by showing your data-face. Where does she get permission to check identity cards like this? What are the election officials doing if she comes into the polling station and checks everyone? Many were angry.
A video of madhavi latha checking the ID cards of voters has gone viral on social media. The matter eventually came to the attention of the police. Eventually a legal complaint was filed against madhavi Lata at the malakpet police station. Cases were filed against her under several laws. Section 171C (improper influence during election), Section 186 (obstruction of public servant in the performance of their duties), Section 505(1) (intention or possibility of inciting any class, association of persons to commit any offense against any other class or community), Section 132 of the Representation of the people Act (Relating to election Offences) Cases were registered against her.
But the netizens are demanding that she be detained till the end of this polling date. Otherwise, it is alleged that they will have a negative influence on the voters. At madhavi latha polling station, some people were fired with insulting women and body shaming them. A few others demanded that the police arrest her immediately, saying that registering a case against her would not be of much use.
