According to sources ED raids are going on since tuesday morning at 12 locations linked to big leaders of the ruling aam aadmi party in Delhi. ED has taken this action in a case related to money laundering. The case in which ED has taken action is related to irregularities in the tender issued by delhi Jal Board. ED had started investigation in this matter last year on the basis of CBI's FIR and the case related to delhi Anti Corruption Branch.

Perhaps since then, the Enforcement Directorate was investigating two separate alleged financial irregularities in relation to the delhi Jal Board. In this regard, last year in July 2023, ED had raided 16 places in Delhi-NCR, Kerala, Chennai. These raids were conducted on Water Board officials, NBCC people and officials of some private institutions in Delhi-NCR, chennai and Kerala.

Moreover there are allegations regarding the delhi Jal Board tender process that many rules were ignored and irregularities were committed in this matter. delhi Jal Board officials, in connivance with NBCC officials, had issued a tender for installation, supply and testing of electro-magnetic flow meters. The investigation revealed that while awarding the tender to the company, undue benefit was given to NKG Infrastructure Limited and money was taken in lieu of giving that benefit. The then NBCC General Manager DK Mittal is accused of issuing fake performance based certificates in favor of NKG Infrastructure. During the tender process, NKG Infrastructure Limited, in collusion with the then Chief engineer Jagdish Kumar Arora and his junior staff, had won the tender worth about Rs 38 crore.
