The budget session which started on 31st january will end on 9th February. The central government has informed that it will be completed quickly subject to the urgency of the government work.

Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Interim Budget on february 1. This is the last and interim budget presented during the second term of bjp rule. Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget for the sixth consecutive year under the prime minister Modi government.

Accordingly, as the parliamentary budget session is scheduled to begin the day after tomorrow, an all-party meeting has been called for tomorrow. During this, Parliamentary Affairs minister Prakalat Joshi will hold a consultation with the political party leaders in both houses of the parliament regarding the session. An all-party meeting will be held tomorrow at 11:30 am at the parliament Library building in Delhi.

As the lok sabha elections are going to be held this year, only the interim budget will be presented instead of the full budget. The full budget for the financial year 2024-25 will be tabled after the general elections and after the formation of the new government. At that time, the budget for the coming financial year will be allocated. It will be operational from 1st april to 31st march next year.

Interim budgets are usually presented during election years. As the parliamentary elections are coming up, there is a lot of expectation on the interim budget. The interim budget is likely to propose doubling the Prime Minister's Agriculture Fund for women farmers. This will cost the government an additional Rs.12,000 crore.
