Hours after he submitted his resignation as the chief minister of the RJD-JD(U) government, nitish kumar took the oath of office as the chief minister of bihar for the ninth time. Amidst chants of Bharat Mata ki jai and jai Shree ram, Jitan ram Manjhi, Chirag Paswan, Samrat Chaudhary, and jp nadda were present when nitish kumar took the oath. When nitish kumar last took the oath of office as chief minister in 2022, he had broken with the nda and joined the RJD, Congress, and Left alliance, eventually rising to the position of chief minister of the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar.

Nitish Kumar spearheaded the formation of the opposition parties' coalition to oppose the bjp in the 2024 lok sabha elections between 2022 and 2024. Even before it was given the name INDIA, nitish kumar convened the inaugural gathering of the opposition parties in june 2023.
