Prayagraj's Special mp MLA court will give its verdict today i.e. on 22nd december in the case of disproportionate assets against former Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Rakesh Dhar Tripathi. The court's decision is expected around 2 pm. The court had reserved its judgment three days ago after the arguments of the prosecution and defense were completed.

Special Judge mp MLA court Dr. Dinesh Chandra Shukla will pronounce the verdict. Charges have been framed against former Higher education minister Rakesh Dhar Tripathi under the Anti-Corruption Act. Inspector Ramsukh ram had lodged an FIR against Rakesh Tripathi at Muthiganj police station in Prayagraj on 23 november 2012. After the FIR was registered, the investigation was handed over to Vigilance.

The case was transferred to the special court of mp MLA.

After investigation, Vigilance filed the charge sheet in varanasi District Court. However, later this case was transferred to the special court of mp MLA. The former minister held the post of Higher education minister of Uttar Pradesh in the BSP government between May 1, 2007 and december 31, 2011.

Disproportionate assets were acquired

During this period, he earned Rs 49 lakh 49 thousand 928 from all legitimate sources of income. During this period, more than Rs 2 crore 67 lakh was spent on property acquisition and maintenance. Which is more than Rs 2 crore 17 lakh in relation to income. Former minister Rakesh Dhar Tripathi could not give a satisfactory explanation for this. After this matter, BSP had expelled him from the party. In the 2022 assembly elections, BJP's ally Apna Dal (S) had fielded Rakesh Dhar Tripathi from Pratappur seat.
