Massive fire breaks out in Vishal Mega Mart in Gurugram

A massive fire broke out in vishal Mega Mart located in Badshahpur, Gurugram on tuesday morning. By the time

the employees could understand anything, the fire spread to clothes and plastic items. Within no time, the second

floor of Mega Mart became a ball of fire. The flames were coming out of the mart and rising high. Besides, there

was further difficulty in extinguishing the fire due to the high tension electric line.

According to the information, the two-storeyed huge mega mart located on Gurugram-Sohna Road was opened as

usual at around 8:30 in the morning. After some time, smoke was seen rising in a corner of the mart. Within no time

the fire started spreading there. An employee named amit of Iriya Mall, located near vishal Mega Mart, saw the

flames rising. He immediately informed the fire officials of Iriya Mall and a vehicle was dispatched from there to

extinguish the fire.

After receiving information about the fire, a vehicle from Sector-29 fire station of the city also reached to extinguish

the fire. There were more clothes and plastic items in the mall. Due to this the fire spread rapidly. It was not

possible to go to the first floor to extinguish the fire, because the fire had spread to the entire floor. The fire had

taken a huge form. Flames were coming out of the mart. High tension electric line is also passing in front of Vishal


Mega Mart. Wires of small electricity lines are also installed there. Due to this, the fire department staff found it

difficult to extinguish the fire. Seeing the fire spreading, more fire engines were called to the spot.
