Extra time to pay electricity bills in 4 districts..!?

Electricity minister Thangam Tennarasu has announced that the deadline for payment of electricity bill will be extended till january 2. In four districts namely Nellai, Kanyakumari, Thenkasi and Thoothukudi, additional time has been given till january 2 to pay the electricity bill. The four southern districts of Tirunelveli, Thenkasi, Thoothukudi and Kanyakumari have been receiving heavy rain since saturday night. Due to this, roads and residential areas are flooded. Due to the increase in water flow in the dams, excess water is being released.


Arrangements have been made to rescue the people living along the coast and shelter them in safety camps in critical condition. Rescue operations are underway with helicopters and boats. chennai Meteorological Center director Balachandran said that heavy rain will continue in the southern districts for two more days. He also mentioned that red alert will continue for Nellai, Thoothukudi and Kanyakumari and tenkasi districts for heavy rain.

Meanwhile, district collector karthikeyan has announced that all schools and colleges will be closed tomorrow (December 19) due to heavy rain in Nellai district. Similarly, tomorrow is a holiday for schools and colleges in Tuticorin district.
