The purpose of this meeting was to take opinion from the leaders of punjab whether toform an alliance with AAP for the lok sabha elections or not? On this, punjab congress said that they will notcompromise with the ruling aam aadmi party in the lok sabha elections and said that they fear that this may leadto loss of the party's vote bank and after the elections, there is no guarantee that the lost vote bank will be broughtback. Apart from punjab congress President amarinder singh Raja Wadding, senior leader Pratap Singh Bajwaand party's working president Bharat bhushan Ashu were also present in this meeting.Different opinions of MPs and senior leadersA large section of MPs want an alliance between the two parties. Whereas punjab congress leaders said that AamAadmi party is running the government in Punjab. The party had got 72 percent vote share in the 2022 elections,but in the Sangrur lok sabha by-election, AAP's vote reached 50 percent. After this it was seen that AAP's votepercentage in jalandhar by-election reached 34. Whereas the voting percentage of congress has increased by 15percent to 28 percent.
