Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde on wednesday criticized the opposition for targeting his government
and said that the opposition should think before speaking. Shinde said at a press conference here on the eve of the
winter session of the state legislature that the opposition has lost the trust of the public due to the BJP’s victory in
three states in the recently held assembly elections. The chief minister said, “Before the election results, the
opposition had said that the popularity of prime minister Narendra Modi was decreasing. But, people have trusted
Modi’s guarantee. Therefore, the opposition should think now before opening its mouth. ,
What did cm Shinde say?
He said that the situation in maharashtra is also favorable for his government and it has the blessings of the people
and the opposition is losing its support base and the ground is slipping under its feet. Shinde claimed that the
opposition alliance indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (India) is on the verge of breaking due to
the defeat in the assembly elections. Regarding the demand for maratha reservation, he said that his government
will give reservation to the community but at the same time will not harm the rights of Other Backward Classes
(OBC) and other communities.
Ajit Pawar and fadnavis replied
Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde has said that his government is committed to providing reservation to
the maratha community without affecting the rights of OBCs. Briefing reporters on the eve of the winter session of
the state legislature, he described the opposition’s boycott of the government's traditional tea party as an act of low
self-confidence by an organization reeling from the latest electoral defeat in three states. Both Deputy Chief
Ministers devendra fadnavis and ajit pawar also rejected the allegations of corruption and broken law and order
situation as baseless and devoid of facts.
