PM Modi's security problem.. 7 Punjab policemen suspended?

PM Modi : A total of 7 police officers have been suspended due to the security problem of prime minister Narendra Modi. These include a Superintendent of police and two officers of DSP rank.

When prime minister Modi went to punjab on january 5, 2022 to participate in a rally held in connection with the Legislative assembly elections in the state of punjab, there were some lapses in his security. The Prime Minister's convoy was stopped at the flyover for about 20 minutes due to the siege of the protesting farmers.


It is noteworthy that the congress said that the Prime Minister's travel plans were changed at the last moment as bjp leaders targeted the then Saranjit Singh Sunni government for failure. In this case, the committee appointed by the supreme Court, which investigated the security breach of prime minister Modi, said that several state officials were responsible for the security breach. Following this, the current Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government has suspended seven police officers for misconduct. Gurbinder Singh, former Superintendent of police, Ferozepur, now bathinda SP. In the november 22 order, the names of 6 more constables have been listed and action has been announced.


DSP rank officers Parson Singh and Jagdish Kumar, inspectors Jadinder Singh and Balwinder Singh, sub-inspector Jaswant Singh and assistant sub-inspector Ramesh Kumar have also been suspended, the order of the state home department said.

Action has been taken against the seven constables under Rule 8 of the punjab Civil services (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 1970, the order said. It is also worth noting that the punishments under these rules can range from withholding of promotion to dismissal from service.
