Saurabh Bhardwaj’s big allegation on EC’s notice to AAP...
Delhi health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj has reacted to the notice received by the election commission from
the aam aadmi party (AAP). Saurabh Bhardwaj said that a few months ago the supreme court had given its
decision on how the Chief election Commissioner would be appointed. He had said that CJI, PM and LoP will
decide this. But, he overturned it. The decision of the supreme court was overturned through a law passed by
the Parliament.
Saurabh Bhardwaj further said, The meaning is clear - the central government appoints someone as Chief
election Commissioner as per its convenience. When this is so, what do you expect from the Chief Election
Commissioner? Secondly, the kind of language bjp uses in its post. The way she uses and says derogatory
things about other political leaders is unique. It is surprising that the election commission cannot see BJP’s posts
and tweets.
Why has the election commission sent the notice?
Let us inform that the election commission on tuesday issued a show cause notice to the Aam Aadmi Party
(AAP) for the alleged derogatory comments made against prime minister Narendra Modi on its social media
handle and gave it till thursday to reply to the allegation of violation of Model Code of Conduct. Issuing notice
to AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, the election commission said, Whereas, aam aadmi party is a
registered political party and is classified as a recognized national party. On november 10, 2023, A complaint
was received from bjp representatives. It has been alleged that two recent tweets from the official handle of X
have portrayed prime minister Narendra Modi and BJP’s star campaigner in a derogatory manner.
