Ashutosh Tandon was born on 12 May 1960. He was the son of well-known bjp leader Lalji Tandon.

People fondly called him Gopal ji. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from lucknow University. From

2001 to 2006, he worked as a director in Union bank of India.

Was mla from lucknow east thrice

In the 2012 elections, he contested from lucknow North assembly Constituency, but he had to data-face defeat.

In the year 2014, Ashutosh Tandon contested the elections from lucknow east assembly seat and became

MLA by defeating SP's Juhi Singh by 26,459 votes. For the second time in 2017, he defeated SP candidate

Anurag Bhadauria from the same seat by a record 79,230 votes. In the year 2017, he was made the Urban

Development minister in the first term of the yogi government. In the year 2022 assembly elections, he

was elected mla from lucknow east seat for the third consecutive time. This time he defeated SP

candidate Anurag Bhadauria by 49017 votes. His father Lalji Tandon had also been the governor of

Madhya Pradesh.
