Punishment confirmed for DMK ministers..!? Warning..!

Annamalai has said that the tamil Nadu bjp will ensure that every corrupt minister of DMK will be prosecuted and get legal punishment. In a statement released by tamil Nadu bjp President Annamalai, "DMK Ministers Mr. Ponmudi, Mr. K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran and Mr. A caveat petition has been filed in the supreme court on behalf of the tamil Yuga bjp in the corruption case against Thangam and Tannarasu. The minister who was the minister of Transport Department in the last 1996-2001 DMK regime Mr. A case was filed against the minister, his wife, his mother-in-law and two of the minister's friends, alleging that Ponmudi had accumulated assets beyond his income. In this case, minister Vanmoody was acquitted by the Villupuram district Chief court in 2004 and then by the high court in 2006, but on the appeal of the then tamil Nadu government, the supreme court re-heard the case.

In 2019, the Villupuram Principal district court, which was designated as a special court to hear cases against people's representatives, continued to hear the case. On July 6 and July 7, 2022, two high court judges in charge of Villupuram district wrote to the then Chief Justice to transfer the asset accumulation case from Villupuram to Vellore. The Chief Justice approved the transfer on July 8, 2022. On june 6, 2023, witnesses for the accused were expeditiously examined and written statements were submitted on june 23, 2023. Over the next four days, the Principal district Judge, Vellore, tabulated 172 prosecution witness documents and 381 pieces of evidence, and on june 28, 2023, delivered a 226-page verdict acquitting all the accused.


The Principal district Judge retired on june 30, 2023, days after delivering the verdict. On december 20, 2011, a case was filed under the Prevention of Corruption Act against Mr. KSR Ramachandran, his wife and a friend of the minister, who was the minister of health and Backward Sector in the DMK regime from 2006-2011. An eight-month trial was stalled and a charge sheet was filed against them on september 5, 2012 in a special court in Madurai. Subsequently, the case was transferred to Srivilliputhur court in 2014 for administrative reasons. In april 2019, the case was transferred after the appointment of a Special court Principal Sessions court to hear cases against people's representatives.



In 2019, the three accused filed a plea seeking acquittal in the case. After the DMK came to power, in the month of Seybamber 2021, the trial of the case was conducted. In october 2022, the minister and the co-accused filed a statement seeking to drop the case, claiming that there was no wrongdoing. The principal sessions judge on July 20, 2028, acquitted the minister's family of the three cases, saying that the minister's family had contributed only Rs 1.49 lakh to the excess income.
