How Alliance is more important to DMK than farmers..!?

As per report bjp state president annamalai has criticized DMK saying that electoral alliance is more important than farmers. Apart from the possibility of sand robbery, DMK has never been concerned about agriculture and delta areas. In a statement released by annamalai, he said: "Electoral alliance is more important to DMK than the farmers of tamil Nadu. In the last 1970s, the issue of distribution of Cauvery river water during the DMK regime led by the late former chief minister Karunanidhi was resolved in 2018 by the efforts of the prime minister of India, narendra Modi, with the establishment of the Cauvery Management Board. After that, for the last five years, while the Cauvery water was being supplied to tamil Nadu without any issue between the two states, after DMK's ally congress came to power in the karnataka state, it has created a problem in opening the Cauvery water to tamil Nadu.

The Cauvery Management Board has asked tamil Nadu to release 3000 cubic feet of water, but the karnataka state government is refusing. In all the dams built by the karnataka state across the Cauvery, around 80 percent of the total capacity of water is stored, while the mettur dam holds only 30 percent of the capacity. If this situation continues, agriculture in the Cauvery delta will definitely suffer. But the DMK government, without any concern about this, is having fun without daring to press or condemn their ally, the karnataka congress government.

The DMK government has rejected the plan suggested by the Water Resources Department of the tamil Nadu government saying that if the mettur dam is removed, about 30 TMC more water can be stored in the dam, and it will require 3000 crores of funds. Farmers would have benefited if they had tried to carry out the mettur dam dredging project as a three- to five-year project.

When DMK came to power, they said in their first financial statement that they would build 1000 dams. Two and a half years have passed. How many dams have been built? Last year alone, 60% of the water that came into the Cauvery was wasted in the sea without benefiting anyone. If the dams were built, the water could have been stored and used. DMK has never been concerned about agriculture and delta areas except that if the river Cauvery dries up without water, it may lead to sand robbery. The DMK, which insisted on paying Rs 30,000 per acre as compensation to farmers, has now announced that it will pay only Rs 13,500 per hectare. It is also questionable whether the funds provided by the central government from the National Disaster Relief Fund will be properly distributed to all the affected farmers.

DMK should immediately stop the trend of continuously deceiving people by making only promises without any concern about agriculture. DMK ally congress should feel the obligation to get the water that belongs to tamil Nadu.” It says so.
