Kharge raised questions on delay in Women’s Reservation Bill?
The Women’s Reservation Bill was passed on thursday (21 September) after discussion in the Rajya Sabha. 214
votes were cast in its favor and zero votes were cast against it. Taking part in the discussion, congress President
mallikarjun Kharge raised questions on the delay in implementation of the Nari shakti Vandan Act (Women’s
Reservation), while Union Law minister Arjun ram Meghwal hit back.
leader of Opposition Kharge read a poem. He said, You are soft, not weak, you are a woman in the name of
power, even death which gives life to the world has been defeated by you. Referring to Clause 5 of the bill, he said
that reservation will be implemented only when the delimitation is completed. This will happen after the census. In
such a situation, my question is, tell me in how many years will it take to be implemented. On Kharge’s statement,
Arjun ram Meghwal said in the Rajya Sabha, Don’t be apprehensive. If Modi is there then it is possible. all is
Possible.
What did mallikarjun Kharge say?
Kharge said sarcastically, “I came to know only two days ago that this bill was going to come, but you said in
Jaipur on 4 september 2023 that the day is not far when women will get their representation in the parliament and
Assembly. Meaning that you came to know. When our Chairman (Vice President jagdeep Dhankhar) spoke, we felt
that a bill was about to come.
What did you say about amit Shah?
congress leader Kharge said that once home minister amit shah said that he would give Rs 15 lakh and two crore
jobs. When this question was asked to him, he said that this is an election slogan. In such a situation, this bill has
come, but this also should not be a mere statement. He said that if they ask us why you did not do it, then my
question is what did you do in ten years. If you had brought agriculture bill and demonetization in these ten years,
you would have brought these also.
