In a bold address at the india AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, telangana chief minister A. revanth reddy unveiled a visionary roadmap to propel india into AI leadership, emphasizing the need for nations to not just consume but produce cutting-edge technology. Speaking on february 20, 2026, reddy proposed establishing a national AI council and a high-tech "AI war Room" in hyderabad to monitor global AI advancements in real-time, ensuring swift responses to rapid innovations.

Reddy highlighted Telangana's potential to host an AI Startup Village, serving as a national hub for young innovators, backed by central funding. He called for a world-class AI university in hyderabad focused on research and collaboration with international institutions. Addressing job concerns, he urged a nationwide assessment of AI-driven displacements, with massive investments in reskilling programs to protect workers and foster ethical deployment.

The summit, held at Bharat Mandapam, saw reddy advocate for india to dominate all AI layers—from semiconductors and data infrastructure to applications—while hosting semi-annual AI summits. However, irony struck as youth Congress members protested the event, highlighting internal party rifts even as their own leader championed the cause. Opposition voices, including from BRS leader KTR, slammed the disruptions as "petty theatrics" exposing Congress's inconsistencies.

Reddy's pitch positions telangana at the AI forefront, blending futuristic visuals of hyderabad with practical strategies for social justice, poverty reduction, and economic growth. As india gears up for its AI mission, this could mark a pivotal shift—or spark more political fireworks.
