Election Commission is ready for one country & one election..!?
Speaking to the media, rajeev Kumar said that the final voter list will be published on october 5 and that there are a total of 5.5 crore voters in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Responding to a question on 'One Nation, One Election', the Chief election Commissioner said, "The election commission will function in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and the Representation of the people Act." "According to the provisions of the law, after the formation of the new government, it will be five years from the date of the first session of the Parliament. The election commission can announce the general election even six months before the end of this time," said Rajiv Kumar. Similar rules apply to assembly elections.
The Center last week set up a high-level committee headed by former President ram nath kovind to examine the possibility of holding simultaneous elections to the Lok Sabha, state assemblies and local bodies. The bjp has already announced its 39 candidates in madhya pradesh, which has 230 assembly constituencies.
