I wouldn't have become a CM if I didn't get a master..!?
Some children win a place in the Master's mind by their talents, others by their mischievousness. His student became a minister. Her student is an actress. His student is a high official. The teacher is proud to know that his student is an excellent doctor. Usually everyone is naturally jealous of those who are taller than them. But a teacher is not the only one who gets jealous. He admires and celebrates that the person he taught Akshara has grown to such a height. It is for this reason alone that the teacher occupies a revered position in society. I feel like a child for a moment when I see a teaching staff with an impeccable mind. I also remember my master. Be it the President, the Prime minister, the governor or the chief minister, one should remember the teacher who taught him the alphabet when he held that position. They should visit the school they studied once. Help as much as possible. About a hundred years ago in our mysore University, Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan had given a call to celebrate Teachers' Day on september 5, his birthday.
I am reminded of another teacher's mother on this occasion. She is savitri Bai Phule, wife of famous social reformer Jyotiba Phule. Savitribai, a female teacher who established a girls' school in pune as early as 1848, had to data-face various difficulties from the traditionalists for the same reason. As they were insulted by throwing stones and dung at them on their way. savitri Bai Phule's name in the campaign for women's education will never die out.
Teaching is not a profession, but a service: There is a great legacy of teachers who make the society proud of this. Teaching is not just a profession, it is a service. It is for the reason that it is service that the society gives respect to teachers which is not given to anyone else. Our teachers must maintain that respect. Meanwhile, derelict teachers are also among us. I am not big enough to give advice to teachers. However, I will occasionally mention two points. I will keep an eye on SSLC and PUC classes exam result.
This time too SSLC result is zero in 11 aided schools. The result of PUC classes of 78 private and government colleges is also zero. Are all the kids enrolled in all these schools and all these colleges stupid? Similarly, are all the teachers in all these schools and colleges worthless? Who is to blame for this? Similarly, every time we look at the results, some districts of North karnataka are at the very last position and the coastal districts are at the first position. Why is it that all teachers are trained the same way?
The future of the country lies in the classrooms: It has been 50 years since the submission of the 'National education Commission of India' report, popularly known as the Kothari Report, on the 29th of last month. Daulat Singh Kothari, who was a rationalist and scientific man, was a great believer in non-violence and inter-religious equality. We believe that India's future will be shaped in school classrooms. It is not just a matter of our imagination, education determines the level of welfare, prosperity and security of people in a science and technology based world.
Daulat Singh Kothari said that the success of the reconstruction of our nation, raising the standard of living of our people, depends on the number of people who get quality education from schools and colleges. This statement of Kothari Sarva.
