DGP's 'Mufti' strategy to know police performance..!?

Annadurai
State director General of police Alok Mohan conducted a Mufti (Dikhayat) operation from the police across the state to find out firsthand the behavior of the officers and staff with the citizens who come to the police station seeking justice. During the operation, more than one thousand complaints were submitted to the police and three policemen were fined for dereliction of duty. At the same time, notices have been issued to some policemen who showed indifference to public acceptance, and disciplinary action is hanging over them.

DGP Alok Mohan, who has taken the initiative to effectively implement 'people-friendly' administration in the stations, has urged the police to create a people-friendly administrative environment in the stations. Officials told 'Kannadaprabha' that Mufti's operation has taken place as the first step. 'Operation Mufti' to SP-DCPs: police behave with arrogance and arrogance towards the public who come to the stations to lodge complaints. Unnecessary delay in filing FIR after receiving complaints from people. Allegations are common in the public sphere that the police are sometimes under political or other influence and are refusing to receive complaints from the aggrieved. To wash away the stigma of this exception, the DGP has taken steps to improve the stations. He said that if the complaints of the people are ignored in the stations, action will be taken without hesitation.

DGP Alok Mohan, who ordered Dikhayat (Mufti) operation to know the attitude of police towards crowd in stations and personally report to his office, suggested that this operation should be supervised by DCPs in cities and SPs in districts. DGP Alok Mohan said that in the background of this notice, the officials have conducted a mufti operation and submitted a report. What is Mufti Operation: This is an operation where the police from other divisions go to Mufti and check the situation there to file complaints like common people at the stations. Law and order stations will be visited by CCB police and traffic stations by SP or DCP office staff. Officials said that while the CCB police conducted operations in Bengaluru, officers from the Special Branch (SB) department visited the stations in the districts.

Three suspended, notice to 100: This mufti operation has been conducted in all stations of the state. DGP Alok Mohan has informed that based on this operation report, three policemen who did not respond to public complaints have been suspended and more than 100 policemen have been given notices. A people-friendly administration is implemented in the stations. As a result of Mufti's operation, 100% complaint acceptance process has taken place. Citizens should approach senior officials directly if the station official refuses to entertain their complaint. Action will be taken against the derelict staff.
