chief minister stalin was proud to inaugurate the Great Agricultural Revolution in tamil Nadu Agribusiness Festival
Chennai: chief minister M.K.Stalin said that there has been a great agricultural revolution in tamil Nadu due to various measures taken by the DMK government. The 2-day Agribusiness festival started yesterday at the chennai Trade Center in Nantambakkam, Chennai. Here in 86 halls the products of 188 farmer producer companies and in 90 halls the exhibitions related to various departments and organizations related to agriculture have been set up. Small grains, traditional rice varieties, pulses, oilseeds, value added snacks in small grains etc. are kept for public viewing. Seminars are also held with industry experts to create awareness about agriculture and agribusiness. A buyer-seller meeting will also be held. Inaugurating this exhibition, chief minister M. K. stalin said: 11 percent growth: The growth was achieved due to the priority given to the agriculture sector. Especially compared to the previous year, 11 percent more, i.e. 120 lakh metric tons of food grain has been produced. A major achievement was the opening of the mettur dam on 12th june for the cultivation of rice in the Cauvery delta districts. A great agricultural revolution has taken place in tamil Nadu due to the priority given to dredging canals and rivers in this region. Farmers' markets established by the late former chief minister Karunanidhi would have changed the lives of the farmers if the next rulers had implemented them better. Now when the DMK government was formed, we got 100 farmers' markets to get a new lease of life. 10 Farmers Markets are being set up. A major step forward in agriculture has been the creation of Farmer producer Corporations. Next, electronicization is taking place to increase agricultural exports. We are about to introduce many more projects. As far as the use of modern technology in agriculture is concerned, farmers need to know technology and officials should know agriculture. Such exhibitions will lay the foundation for that. A farmer's friend: The anti-farmer bjp government brought 3 agricultural laws against farmers and made them fight in the capital for months in the scorching heat and shivering cold. But the DMK government will always be the friend of the farmers. That is why in 2006, when former chief minister Karunanidhi came to power, he waived Rs 7000 crore of agricultural loans with a single signature. In the one and a half years since he came to power, the DMK government has also created a historic record by providing more than one and a half lakh free electricity connections. Thus spoke chief minister Stalin. Earlier, the chief minister presented awards to agricultural producers who excel in trade and farmers who excel in exports. Agriculture minister MRK Panneerselvam, Law minister S. Raghupathi, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises minister Thamo Anparasan, Legislative Council member S. Sudharsanam, Agriculture Secretary C. Samayamurthy and others participated in the event. Don't miss out!
