The government on friday presented in the rajya sabha the details of expenditure incurred on foreign tours of the prime minister during the last five years. minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan told the rajya sabha that the government has spent around Rs 25 crore on prime minister Modi's foreign tour. However, he also said that these foreign tours help india strengthen its relations with its global partners. Along with this, the global agenda of the country also takes shape on international issues.

What tour cost?

Muraleedharan said that the government had spent Rs 32,09,760 on prime minister Modi's visit to indonesia for the recent G20 summit, while earlier Rs 23,86,536 had been spent during PM's visit to japan from september 26 to 28. The prime minister had visited europe earlier this year. Muraleedharan pointed that Rs 2,15,61,304 was spent on that tour, while Rs 23,27,09,000 was spent on prime minister Modi's visit to the US between september 21 and 28 in 2019.
