In this situation, due to the efforts made by the chief minister of a state in India, lakhs of electricity consumers in the state do not need to pay electricity bills. himachal pradesh chief minister Jairam Thakur has recently announced 125 units of free electricity per month to all electricity consumers in the state. Due to this, more than 14 lakh people who use electricity in the state are not required to pay electricity bills and people are happy.
Jairam Thakur, the chief minister of himachal pradesh, said that their state is currently producing surplus electricity more than the requirement and we are generating a total of 24,567 MW of electricity, out of which only 11,138 MW of electricity is being used. chief minister Jairam Thakur said that 1,500 to 2,000 MW will be solar power.
He also said that the state government encourages those who develop not only hydropower projects but also solar, wind and hybrid cum pumped storage projects and for that, the state government is changing its power policies and plans from time to time. Due to these efforts of the state government, the construction work of 24 hydropower projects has been completed during our regime. The chief minister also said that our state is called 'Power State' after the state of himachal pradesh has become self-sufficient in electricity.
As announced by the chief minister, 125 units of electricity have been announced for each electricity consumer, out of the total number of consumers in the state of 22,59,645, 14,62,130 people are using only 125 units, so they do not need to pay the electricity bill. 125 unit electricity consumers used to pay electricity bills of Rs.600.
People are happy because now they don't have to pay a single penny for the electricity bill. chief minister Jairam Thakur said that the state government has helped more than 14 lakh consumers to save Rs 600 per month by providing 125 units of free electricity. It is also worth noting that the chief minister also inaugurated a 33KV power sub-station at Kalyard in Mandi for 3.29 crores.
