The students of Mamallapuram government college of Sculpture welcome the countries of the world by carving a chess board and pieces in wax on top of the globe to create awareness about chess. The students of government Sculpture college, Mamallapuram, Chengalpattu district, will participate in the 44th international Chess Olympiad in Mamallapuram on 28th. 187 countries of the world will participate. In order to give a different perspective to the participation, 3 students who are studying for the degree in the sculpture department have also created a chess board wax sculpture in the shape of a globe in the classroom.
The All india Chess Federation announced the list of players who will represent india in the Chess Olympiad series. A total of 25 players as the 2 team lists have already been released. In these 2 lists, 5 tamil Nadu players including one woman were included.
In this case, the 3rd team participating on behalf of india has been announced. karthikeyan and Sethuraman from tamil Nadu have been featured in this. With this, the number of tamil Nadu players participating in the Chess Olympiad increased to 7. It is noteworthy that 188 teams in the men's division and 162 teams in the women's division are participating in this year's Chess Olympiad series.
