Following this, kejriwal wrote a letter to the prime minister urging him to suspend air services. The letter said, "For the past one and a half years, the whole of india has been fighting hard against the coronavirus. We are recovering from corona damage caused by the hard work of selfless activists. The World health Organization (WHO) has warned that the new strain of the Omicron virus could cause serious harm. Most european countries, including israel and Japan, have banned international flights. Because of the Omicron threat, I urge the federal government to ban international air service. Maharashtra Chief minister uddhav thackeray has written a letter to prime minister Modi. In the letter, thackeray requested a ban on flights from 12 countries affected by the virus. The federal government is expected to issue an official announcement soon regarding the suspension of international air services.
