The
people of
chennai are quite relieved as the Corona cases have declined sharply and the number of fresh cases has reached 1500+ right now. Earlier, the city faced a spike in the number of positive cases with each day being recorded with more than 8000 cases. Even though this is good news, the
people of
chennai are still worried as a particular area still shows a huge increase in the number of positive cases.
Tamil Nadu
chief minister MK
stalin and
health Minister Ma. Subramanian took several steps to get rid of the second wave of COVID in the city. Even a strict
lockdown was imposed inside the city premises itself. The Greater
chennai Municipal Corporation has reported that 13 areas in
chennai are showing a huge decline in the positive cases except for the Royapuram area.
Royapuram area is one of the densely populated areas and the number of positive cases has increased by 0.7% and TVK
nagar nearby also shows a small spike in the number of fresh cases. This has been a worry as the spread might continue further. Right now, the Royapuram areas is completely isolated from the rest of
chennai and the
government is taking several steps to eradicate the COVID second wave.
