Jagadguru Adi Shankara Review: Story

Film starts with mega star Chiranjeevi describing about the greatness of Adi Shankara. Coming into story at a tender age Adi Shankara desires to become saint and Tanikella Bharani,Mohan Babu, Srihari helps him to turn as saint. Chandala  [Nagarjuna ] keeps test for Adi Shankara to make him differentiate between good and bad. Gangadevi [Meena] and Sai Kumar approaches Adi Shankara to clear their doubts, but he fails to clear it bcoz of Sai Kumar’s wife Kamalinee Mukherjee interpretation and makes him to take a decision. With this decision Sreerama Chandra and his wife Kamna Jethmalani enters into story. What is the decision Adi Shankara has taken? With one decision how Sreerama Chandra and his wife came into picture? Takes the story forward.

Jagadguru Adi Shankara Review: StarPerformances

In this film Nag is seen in role of Chandala, even though his character is small he acted well. Actor who is seen in major part of the movie as Adi Shankara has did a good job at few scenes but in key scenes he couldn’t pull off. Mohan Babu, Srihari performances will surprise everyone. Suman, Meena, did justice to their roles. Even though Sreerama Chandragot a good role to perform he was not able to do justice to his character.

Jagadguru Adi Shankara Review: Direction, Music & Technical Aspects

Story, Screenplay, dialogues, and direction these four departments are shouldered by J.K. Bharavi. His research on story and meaningful dialogues are very good but he did not take more care in screenplay part. With a good intention to explore everything about Adi Shankara, J.K. Bharavi has forgotten that it will slow down the flow of the movie. In direction section Raghavendra Rao has set a bar and JK did not reach even half to that. Nagasri music did not give any strength instead it weakness the movie. Editor should have chocked few scenes in the movie and cinematography was fine.

Jagadguru Adi Shankara Review: Analysis

With the success Annamayya, Sri Manjunatha, Sri Ramadasu movies, of J.K. Bharavi gained good name. After working as screen writer for these films J.K. Bharavi directed Adi Shankara movie. If we talk about the movie there is Annamayya history, Sri Manjunatha history, Sri Ramadasu history which is known to many unlike Adi Shankara. And J.K. Bharavi intentions to introduce Adi Shankara to present youth are not a bad idea but filming should also be to that standards. For these kinds of movies graphical work will stand as backbone but due to cheap graphic work key scenes couldn’t get conveyed to audiences.

For publicity Nag is used in the posters but in the film he is hardly seen for 10 minutes and even actors like Naga Babu, Poosani, Meena are not used to their true potential by director. To be frank I felt like watching a tv serial rather than a feature film when I am watching it on silver screen. One last word if you desire to know about Adi Shankara then go and watch this flick.

Bottom Line : Jagadguru Adi Shankara movie is for youth but .........
