Savitribai Phule, a great social reformer in indian history, was born on this day in 1831 in Naigaon, Satara district of Maharashtra. Savitribai opened the country's first girls' school in Bhide Wada, Pune on this day (3 January) in 1848. savitribai phule, opposing the male-dominated society, went from house to house and inspired people to educate girls.
