Actor akshay kumar said that after spending decades in the hindi film industry, he has become ‘thick-skinned’.During a conversation with Galatta Plus, Akshay said that people can 'buy out' stars. He said, "Being in the industry for so long, you become thick-skinned. There is hardly any difference between you and a rhinoceros. But it is most welcome when some valuable critic talks about it. If someone says something, I value it and take it. Being in the industry, you have come to know who is a good critic and who is a bad critic. There are things you can buy. Stars, you can buy it out. But good critics, when I read it, I take it. The person says this must be something. If a dhoni sourav ganguly doesn’t win matches, the commentators and critics are a sunil gavaskar talking about a ravi shastri speaking about."

Speaking of film critics and how movies are reviewed, the actor claims, "Yahan toh koi bhi uth ke aa jaata hai, ek koi aadmi uth ke aa jayega bodega main critic hun. Any publication will say, 'Areh! kya kar raha hai, aaj picture dekh ke aa, zara kuch likhna iske baare mein. It has become a chaotic thing (Here, anyone can just get up and come forward, and someone will say they're a critic. Any publication will say, 'Hey! What are you doing? Go watch the movie today and write something about it."You have to know about it to talk about it. Yahan college se koi ek student nikalta hai ‘beta tu jaake filmein dekh aur review kar’. Usko agar pucho ki konse konse lens hai usko nahi pata (Here, a student comes out of college and is told, 'Go watch movies and review them.' If you ask them about the different lenses, they have no idea). But now the audience has become very smart; they know what is right and what is wrong," Akshay added.
