Musician ilayaraja, who was the special guest at the launch of the english book 'Maalyada', delivered a keynote speech. The release ceremony of the english book 'Maalyada' describing Andal Tirupavai was held in chennai yesterday. Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman attended the book launch as the special guest. Musician ilayaraja also participated and addressed the event.

Then he said: “I have work for 30 days of the month. One song in the morning and one song in the afternoon, I would give the call sheet and work. But now there is no call sheet. Now they are working day and night. Now it takes six months to make a song. Why are there people who took a year? Not to criticize those who do. They don't get it, they put it in.
I am not a novice in Carnatic Sangeet. As far as I am concerned, whether I deserve the name of an Isaignani is a question mark. But I adore what people call Isaignani. But I don't think like that, so I don't have any pride. I threw away all that pride at an early age. As a child, when I played the harmonium in concerts, everyone clapped. It was an honor to clap. I learned a lot and started reading. As this applause increased, so did my pride. At one point I began to wonder who the applause was for. Only then did I realize they were clapping for the tune I was playing? And I'll just play MSV's hit songs. So when I realized that all those applauses were for him, I threw away my pride,” says Ilayaraja.
