Sankranthi Films Needs An ‘Industry Peddha’

S Venkateshwari
On the eve of Sankranthi 2024, five films, namely guntur Kaaram, Saindhav, Naa Saami Ranga, Eagle, and Hanu-Man, would clash in cinemas. While they claim that there are enough cinemas and screens to handle all of these films, there is a battle going on when it comes to distribution, placement, and clash dates. However, no one is prepared to enter the scene and resolve the concerns.
Previously, once certain major conflict dates were set by seasoned top producers, industry Peddhalu such as dasari narayana rao would intervene and resolve the release issues. That would provide each picture with the appropriate number of cinemas, and buyers-distributors would modify the screen count based on the buzz surrounding the films.
However, with each distribution business supporting particular films, only those films will receive a sufficient number of screens, ideal locations, and appropriate release dates. Until some time ago, even megastar chiru used to intervene in various situations but after getting criticised for meeting ap cm YS jagan about tickets problem, he has stopped himself from playing the role of 'Industry Peddha'.
With no 'industry peddha' personality in charge, release disagreements are certain to devolve into pandemonium. Now that practically all of the Sankranthi releases have locked horns and begun teasers, trailers, and songs with a release date, none will surely back out of the slot. We'll have to wait and watch how this plays out.
