Suhana Khan Lauds Alia Bhatt For Rewearing Her Wedding Saree At National Awards
Suhana Khan is all ready to make her long-awaited acting debut in The Archies. Shah Rukh Khan's daughter applauded alia bhatt for re-wearing her wedding saree to the National Awards earlier this year during a recent promotional event for Zoya Akhtar's film. Suhana praised Alia's choice, calling it "incredible" and a "much-needed message."
"Alia wore her wedding saree again for the National Awards, and I think as somebody with a platform, who has influence, I thought that was incredible and a much-needed message," Suhana said, adding, "She (Alia) did that and she took a stand towards sustainability." If alia bhatt can wear her wedding saree again, we may wear the same attire to a party."
Alia Bhatt received the Best Actress National Award for her performance in the film Gangubai Kathiawadi. She received her prize alongside Kriti Sanon, who received it for her 2021 film Mimi. alia wore the hand-dyed ivory organza sari embellished with delicate tilla work that Sabyasachi Mukherjee created for her wedding to ranbir kapoor in 2022.
Alia Bhatt later explained why she chose to re-wear her wedding saree, telling PTI, "Whenever there is a major occasion or big moment coming up, you start planning for it... 'I'm going to re-wear my bridal saree,' I thought automatically. Sabyasachi Mukherjee designed and created the saree, but it was a lot of me, with the white and gold colour scheme and particular motifs."
