Union minister Kiren Rijiju responded on thursday to india bowler Mohammed Shami's praise of prime minister Narendra Modi for addressing the squad in their dressing room following their world cup 2023 final loss to Australia. Shami's comment, according to Rijiju, was "very responsible" and "unlike some irresponsible people who are publicly drawing sadistic pleasure from India's defeat."
Shami stated that the Prime Minister's gesture was significant and provided the squad confidence following their loss. "Because you're already low on morale." "It's something completely different," shami told the journalists. While complimenting shami, Rijiju blasted congress MP rahul gandhi, saying, "People know very clearly why Shri rahul gandhi despises prime minister Modi Ji!! So I won't go any farther."

The Union minister was responding to congress leader rahul Gandhi's accusation that PM Modi was a 'panauti' (bad omen) and that his presence caused india to lose the 2023 world cup final match against Australia.

Rahul gandhi made the comment while speaking during a campaign event in Jalore, Rajasthan.

The bjp filed a complaint with the election commission in response to his statement, and the poll authority issued a notice to the congress MP on Thursday.

The election commission has requested that rahul gandhi respond by 6 p.m. on Saturday, explaining why action should not be taken against him for breaking the Model Code of Conduct.
