Supreme court Chief Justice uday Umesh Lalit and Bela M Trivedi heard a petition filed by Sujit Kumar Singh, a resident of Mirzapur. The court said, 'How can there be a pre-screening committee for a web series? This is a special law unless you say that OTT is also a part of this law... you have to say that the existing law applies to OTT as well. After this many questions will arise because they are broadcast from other countries also.
Along with giving this decision, the court has also directed the petitioner to withdraw his petition. He said, 'The content coming on OTT is also broadcast from other countries, which is watched by all the viewers. After that everything is different. Your petition filed should be comprehensive, so you better file a petition. Along with this, the supreme court has also refused to stay the third season of 'Mirzapur'.
