Mukesh Khanna's series Shaktimaan was a huge success on National television as a television series. The tv series introduced children to India's first indigenous superheroes in the late 90s and early 2000s. Long before the concept of Ayan Mukharjee, the audience has already met the superheroes made of the five elements - earth, fire, water, air and sky. Preparations are underway to bring mukesh Khanna's superhero series to sony Pictures international on the big screen. Speculation continues on the name of the actor in the film and it is being told that ranveer singh will play the lead role in the film.

Earlier there was news that ranveer singh can play the role of Shaktimaan. Although Ranveer or the makers have not made any official announcement. A report in Mid-Day claimed that Om Raut may direct the film.

Om Raut has previously directed ajay Devgn's historical action drama biopic Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior. These days he is shooting for Prabhas-Kriti Sanon starrer Adipurush based on the ancient story Ramayana. Om is known for making heavy budget VFX and action films. If all goes well, Om Raut can direct Shaktimaan.
